Privacy

GreyNews is a private pilot. This notice explains the information stored on your device and handled to provide the service.

Data stored in this browser

GreyNews stores an anonymous device identifier, selected language and theme, reading progress, tracked stories, display preferences, and first-visit markers in browser storage. A language preference cookie and an admin-session indicator cookie are used. The admin cookie indicates login state; the authentication token is held in a separate HttpOnly cookie. Brief snapshots are kept in IndexedDB for up to 72 hours and are removed when checked after expiry. The service worker also caches the app shell and static files for offline use; it does not cache API responses. These caches remain until the service worker updates or you clear site data.

Data sent to GreyNews

When you use features such as predictions or groups, GreyNews receives the information needed to provide those features together with an anonymous device identifier. Avoid entering sensitive personal information.

Diagnostics and logs

Operational logs may include request details such as IP addresses. Error diagnostics may also be used to investigate service problems. GreyNews does not use advertising or cross-site analytics in the app.

Forecasts and sources

Forecasts and scenario chains are informational research, not financial advice. Scenario chains are reasoned scenarios, not validated predictions. GreyNews attributes reporting to its sources. Contact form coming soon.

Retention and choices

Browser preferences remain on your device until you clear site data. IndexedDB brief snapshots expire after 72 hours when next checked. Service-worker app-shell and static-file caches remain until the worker updates or you clear site data.
